Talking Cow Card

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Print out the pre-made card template on the colored paper or cardstock of your choice.
  2. Print out the pre-made cow face template on white paper.
  3. Cut the card template in half (horizontal). Fold one card in half so that the poem is the front side of the card.
  4. Cut the cow template in half (horizontal).
  5. Fold the cow face in half and cut a straight slit. Make the cut half as big as you would like your cow's mouth.
  6. Fold the edges down to make 2 triangles, then open your paper all the way.
  7. Poke each triangle through, turn your card to the inside, and fold the mouth out along the 'fold lines' that are already there. This is the tricky part, but once you've done it, it's easy!
  8. The inside of your card should have a pop out mouth now.
  9. Use crayons or markers to color in the cow face.
  10. Glue the cow face to the inside of the card. Do not glue the cow face completely, just the outside edges. Move approximate 1/4" from the outside edge of the card on the left and right sides. This will keep the cow face flexible in order to open and close.

Flower Garden Headband

Using tissue paper and chenille stems, this craft is a quick and easy way to make fancy flowers.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. To make the headband cut a piece of construction paper in half lengthwise.
  2. Fold each piece in half lengthwise. Unfold the pieces and fold the sides in to meet the center fold. Unfold the halves and tape them together to make a long band. Fold them back up.
  3. Fit the bands to each child's head and staple them. You may have to add another piece for older children. Cover the staples with tape so that the staples don't scratch the children's head.
  4. Have the children color the flower garden template.
  5. Staple or tape the flower garden template to the headband.
